Quote Of The Day - 29/12/08 - Orison Swett Marden

After sitting here and thinking about things which have become habitual to me, i found some quotes about it, and found them interesting.

Orison Swett Marden, an American writer who was involved with the New Thought Movement, has this to say about Habits,

"Man becomes a slave to his constantly repeated acts. What he at first chooses, at last compels." Orison Swett Marden

He also is well known for commentry on finance, though hints at personal devolopment as the key to it.

"The golden opportunity you are seeking is in yourself. It is not in your environment; it is not in luck or chance, or the help of others; it is in yourself alone."
Orison Swett Marden

Getting back to Habits, there is this one though i find it hard to find out anything about her, i like the quote.

"Habits...the only reason they persist is that they are offering some satisfaction...You allow them to persist by not seeking any other, better form of satisfying the same needs. Every habit, good or bad, is acquired and learned in the same way - by finding that it is a means of satisfaction." Juliene Berk
